Wilec, a subsidiary of Delta Electrical contracted Internet Direct to upgrade their Server Room. They had identified the need to not only secure their Mission Critical Server and Networking Equipment, but to also ensure that they had the correct Access and Fire Prevention methods in place.
It was a specific requirement that Wilec did not want to deal with multiple contractors and sub-contractors. They wanted one party to accept responsibility for the management and implementation of the entire project. As such Internet Direct were responsible for investigation, project management and implementation of the entire process and all sub-contractors involved in the upgrade from inception till completion, including compliance and final clearance certificates were necessary.
The server room upgrade included:
* Supply and installation of Fire Prevention System (Gas) and Fire Door
* Supply and installation of Access Control
* Building alterations to exiting Server Room
* Supply of additional Server and Networking Equipment
This project included several on-site meetings with the various sub-contractors to carefully co-ordinate work being carried out in stages, as each sub-contractor was reliant on the other meeting set deadlines. The entire project was managed with on site staff from Internet Direct.
Despite building alteration delays due to rain, sub-contractors were able to complete the entire project on schedule. The project was not only completed within the allocated time frame but with no downtime to the Mission Critical Production Server.
