Misys Retail Banking strengthens global marketing team with two key appointments

Johannesburg, 07 Jan 2004

Misys Retail Banking has appointed Ian Benn as marketing director. Benn will head up a team of experienced banking and technology specialists who will help clients capitalise on the latest thinking in the industry. He will be responsible for the company`s global communication, strategic marketing and building positive relationships with the Misys worldwide customer base.

Previously, Benn was managing director of Brass Consulting, a marketing communications company that advises technology vendors on how to better engage with customers and prospects. He held the position of marketing director for systems and technology at Unisys from 1998 to 2001 and managed marketing and communications for the company`s servers and IT products in the UK. Benn has over 20 years experience in the IT industry, working as an IT programmer and buyer before moving to channel sales and then marketing.

Barrie Neill has been appointed solutions marketing manager at Misys Retail Banking. He will be responsible for ensuring that Misys` solutions meet the needs of banks and will help banks identify and deliver significant benefits from the Misys solutions that they use, not simply through technology changes but also through business process changes that are made available by that technology.

Previously, Neill worked across a number of UK and international divisions at Barclays Bank, from 1980 to 2003. His responsibilities within the Barclays Group included defining and aligning strategic change initiatives, both internal and customer facing, to address customer satisfaction, profitability and return on capital. Neill also established new teams within the Barclays Africa division to radically change the corporate customer proposition and its delivery.
