Mitel (NASDAQ:MITL), a provider of unified communications software solutions, has received a 2009 Unified Communications Product of the Year Award from Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC) Unified Communications magazine, for its Mitel Applications Suite.
The Mitel Applications Suite (MAS) brings together business-critical unified communications applications in a single software package, providing organisations of all sizes with enhanced employee productivity, improved customer service and simplified management.
MAS provides a rich set of advanced software applications, including unified messaging, speech auto-attendant, mobile phone integration, audio and Web conferencing, customer service utilities, business analytics with Application Web and SIP Trunk Proxy Services to support secure remote teleworking.
This select combination of applications works together seamlessly, on a single server, to improve communications, collaboration and information flow for users and among customers, partners, and suppliers to create a competitive advantage.
"It is an honour to grant Mitel with a 2009 Product of the Year Award for their Mitel Applications Suite. Mitel has proven their dedication to quality and excellence while supporting the needs in the marketplace," stated Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC. "We look forward to seeing continued advancement in technology solutions from Mitel in the future," said Tehrani.
Working in conjunction with Mitel Communications Director and the Mitel 5000 Communications Platform (CP), MAS offers small and medium-sized businesses with a complete and effective unified communications solution. This solution is administered through a single, user-friendly, Web-based interface. Simplified management and single-server advantages are designed to translate into total cost of ownership reduction associated with initial deployment and ongoing management overhead.
"Mitel continues to be a leader and this award further validates MAS as a strong component of Mitel's unified communications offer to the market, as evidenced by increasing customer shipments and enhancements such as embedded virtualisation software," said Andy Bull, MD for Mitel South Africa.
"With the success of the Mitel Teleworker Solution and other key applications like Mitel NuPoint Unified Messaging and Mitel Audio and Web Conferencing from MAS, customers have clearly recognised the need and importance of putting them on a standard server to support market demand for flexibility," said Bull.
