Mitel Networks has launched the new Mitel Networks 3050 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP). Built upon a powerful combination of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), an open Internet Protocol (IP) standard, and Linux, the 3050 ICP provides small businesses of up to eight users with robust voice and data communications, wired and wireless Local Area Network (LAN), and an integrated network server solution.
Through this unique offering, small businesses can now leverage the Web in new ways and benefit from a range of applications and services previously only economically available to large companies.
"Today`s small business needs a comprehensive communications solution that will provide them with high levels of security and reliability, while requiring little or no IT expertise to operate," says Andy Bull, director for Mitel Networks South Africa.
"The 3050 ICP provides small companies with a distinct competitive advantage by reducing costs, improving efficiency and enhancing customer satisfaction," continues Bull.
The Mitel Networks 3050 ICP is a powerful voice and data communications solution that integrates wired and 802.11 wireless LAN capabilities, IP telephony, router, firewall and virtual private networking. Based on the award-winning MN 6000 server, the 3050 ICP also includes a Web server, file and print sharing, collaboration tools and browser-based management. Optionally, small businesses can use Mitel Networks ServiceLink, with capabilities such as 24X7 monitoring, automatic anti-virus updates, along with "touch of a button" applications download from a centrally managed applications management centre.
The 3050 ICP will enter customer trials in June 2002 and will be generally available in Q4 2002. It is a member of the Mitel Networks family of Integrated Communications Platforms, allowing simple migration to the larger 3100 ICP, 3300 ICP and 6000 servers as a customer`s business grows.
