One Technology Group (OTG), the Own Brand company in the Siltek IT Supply chain group, has beefed up its commitment to the mobile computing world with the release of the Pentium III-based range of Laptech Notebooks. New technology incorporated in these products makes for thinner, lighter models with more power than their predecessors. The quest for desktop performance in mobile computing has challenged the industry since the very start, says Stuart Fredman, product manager at OTG.
"With the latest Pentium technology used in the Laptech range, the Discovery CP, Millennium Pro TS 13 inch and 14 inch, and the Millennium Pro P 1030 W, Laptech has attained that level of performance," he says.
At clock speeds of up to 650 MHz in the high end products, these Notebooks are powerful machines set to accelerate graphics capabilities. "Intel's 0.18-micron silicon technology results in a lighter, slimmer notebook which uses less power thereby increasing battery life," says Fredman.
"The mobile professional has 24 GB hard drive storage space in these new machines and is able to use DVD for applications, including voice dictation with translation peripherals, without loss of quality," says Fredman.
The Pentium III processors feature Internet Streaming SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) which improves streaming multimedia and graphic applications. Fredman adds that this results in clearer sound quality, deeper colour and enlarged images - bringing the multimedia experience to life.
