DEHN's new DEHNrail M modular two-pole, surge arresters are designed to protect the LV power supply of industrial electronic devices against surges in switchgear installations. The pluggable Type 3 surge arresters provide high performance safety against common mode and differential mode interferences. With their new Red/Line design, DEHNrail M provide a high discharge capacity due to the powerful zinc oxide varistor/spark gap combination.
Compact in design, DEHNrail M consist of a base element and plug-in protection module. The devices provide increased safety due to the Y-protection circuit and a combined control device and approved disconnector. A new coding system on the base of the unit indicates the type and module, eliminating wrong supply and ensuring the correct choice of product.
Designed for 35 mm DIN rails, DEHNrail M devices provide input and output terminals for series connection in circuits up to 25 Amps. They adapt to the cable run upstream of the terminal equipment without requiring additional terminal blocks for the outgoing cables. In addition to the standard visual indication with a green and red light, the devices provide a two-pole terminal for remote signaling. A new locking system connects the module and base part firmly in place. Neither vibrations during transport nor the electromagnetic forces of discharge can loosen the connection. If the protective circuit is overloaded, the module's release button allows quick exchange of the device. While the operating state and fault indication are shown by a mark in the inspection window.
