Today sees the launch of the Molex Premise Networks Finnish Wall Plate, designed specifically for the Nordic market. This Finnish Wall Plate provides compatibility with the Stromfors range of bezels and comes fully assembled with a Stromfors compatible fascia. The Wall Plate is pre-loaded with PowerCat 6 RJLP RJ45 connectors and is protected from dust and contamination by spring loaded shutters. The shutter features are mounted sub-flush to protect from accidental damage.
The labelling system allows the use of both hand-written and pre-printed labels, allowing both speedy installation and compatibility with all other labelling systems. In the event of low smoke materials becoming mandatory, `Halogen Free` material has been used for the production of the Wall Plate. With a tough, scratch-resistant finish, the Wall Plate is built to a close tolerance for a precise fit within the bezel.
Jonathan Lewis, Product Specialist, Molex Premise Networks comments, "As a component of the PowerCat 6 System, the Wall Plate is designed to comply with the draft Category 6 specification, without reaching capacity. It has been specifically designed for the Nordic region, where a number of our distribution partners operate."
The Wall Plate is also available in Cat 5E UTP and FTP variants, supporting all ratified applications such as Gigabit Ethernet. The FTP variant provides continuity of the cable shield, with the inclusion of a termination point for the drain wire.
The full range of PowerCat 6 products should be used in a system to provide Category 6 performance.
PowerCat 6
Molex Premise Networks` Category 6 network solution has been independently tested and certified for compliance to the draft Category 6 performance standard. Leading international test house Delta Laboratories of Denmark has verified that PowerCat 6 meets the hardware link and channel specification for the Category 6 draft standard. The Molex range is one of the first to achieve such independent verification.
PowerCat 6 not only meets the requirements of the draft Category 6 standard, but exceeds them in a number of important performance criteria, providing significant headroom for future expansion. PowerSum attenuation to cross talk ratio (ACR) is better than 10dB at 200MHz, and return loss is more than 15dB at 200MHz.
PowerCat 6 is a complete cabling network system comprising patch-panels, cords, outlets and connectors. Components are designed for reliability and ease of installation; for example patch panels come with integral cable management and multi-coloured patch cords have matching coloured boots. The range is backward compatible with the Molex Premise Networks PowerCat system, for Category 5e networks.
