Moneyweb, the JSE-listed media company, has gone live with a new online auction and special offer system, using dynamic commerce technology and the partner network of e-business application provider, SalesBid.
The financial specialist site, www.moneyweb.co.za, is now able to offer bidding on and buying of various items, including computers, travel, accommodation, cars for hire, art, entertainment, militaria, sports memorabilia, CDs, wine, yachts, as well as business equipment and services.
These items are provided by merchants in the SalesBid Partner Network, such as Protea Hotels, Hertz Rent a Car, Intersurplus, Phonosound and Cathay Militaria. These merchants not only have the opportunity of selling their products on their own auction systems, but also receive added exposure on the leading SA consumer portal, iafrica.com and now leading financial specialist site, www.moneyweb.co.za.
Using sophisticated syndication technology developed by SalesBid, Moneyweb acts as an aggregator, allowing all SalesBid's merchants' products to be 'published' in real-time on the Moneyweb system. This is a symbiotic relationship as it provides increased exposure for SalesBId's merchants to a targeted user base; while at the same time it allows Moneyweb to offer e-commerce to its 42 000-plus unique users without having to source any products or merchants itself. There is also revenue potential with Moneyweb earning commission on successful sales that take place on its site.
Says Brynn Janeke of Moneyweb: "We have a philosophy of partnering with the best-of-breed service providers in the e-business sphere, and as far as the provision of online auctions goes, this means SalesBid. We view this functionality as a value-add to our community - they now have access to a variety of products at good prices backed by reputable companies, which provides further attractiveness to our own offering."
SalesBid's dynamic commerce e-business applications comprise a full suite of online products, including auctions, spot pricing and haggle systems, as well as sophisticated B2B exchange and marketplace applications. All solutions are fully customised and allow for ease of use as well as rapid deployment.
According to David Bloch, CEO of SalesBid, "SalesBid is targeting other portals and specialist sites looking to offer e-commerce to their users without having to source their own products or merchants. Our syndication technology allows a fast and affordable solution that is mutually beneficial for all parties involved."
SalesBid is a provider of rapidly deployed, customised and affordable dynamic commerce e-business applications. It focuses on providing clients with innovative selling, procurement and enterprise solutions aimed at optimising revenue and improving efficiencies.
SalesBid's cutting edge technology allows a dynamic pricing component to be quickly and easily added to companies' websites facilitating online sourcing or selling with the aim of optimising revenue. SaleBid's online solutions are unique in that they allow companies to run dynamic pricing solutions from their own sites, thereby maintaining their business's corporate image and brand and increasing traffic to their site. Furthermore, SalesBid's superior syndication technology facilitates the items for sale to be simultaneously published on major portal and specialist sites, which exposes the participating companies^1 goods and services to a large and targeted online audience resulting in increased sales.
SalesBid is an independent subsidiary of Auction Alliance Holdings with stakes also held by management and African Harvest Capital.
