The Core Group, which represents Apple in SA, has moved into its new headquarters at 1 Sandton Drive, Sandhurst, Johannesburg.
The HQ building also houses an iStore, the flagship store, where consumers can browse and test all Apple products. Core Group executive director, RJ van Spaandonk, says it is much more than just an iStore and head office.
“Apart from it being a premier retail outlet for Apple products and third-party Apple peripherals, the office also acts as a training facility for business users of Apple Mac products in their working environment,” he says.
In the Briefing Centre, individuals who use Macs in their professional capacity can learn more about how to effectively use and implement Apple products for their business needs. According to Van Spaandonk, this not only includes the general use and application of Macs in the office environment, but also much more detailed solutions for large enterprises or SMEs, including financial, sales, marketing and accounting solutions.
“Similar to a company car allowance, people will in future be given a technology allowance by their companies to buy technology, which they will use for business and pleasure,” says Van Spaandonk. “In that light we decided that it only makes sense to bring our consumer and business showrooms together under one roof as a single digital lifestyle destination.”
The Core Group HQ will also act as a function venue where companies can hold press briefings or photography exhibitions, for example.
