Morphlabs upgrades cloud architecture

Morphlabs, an enabler of enterprise cloud architecture platforms, has upgraded its flagship product, mCloud Controller, says Centre Daily Times.

The enhanced version introduces enterprise cloud architecture, an approach that is said to simplify the process of building and managing an internal cloud for enterprise environments; enabling companies to create their own private cloud infrastructure.

Morphlabs also announced a partnership with Zend Technologies, whose server will be shipped as part of the mCloud enterprise.

Enterprise architecture awards recognises excellence

Enterprise architecture (EA) provides common ground for business and IT to work together and only with this framework in place can rational technology decisions be made, writes World.

InfoWorld and Forrester Research share a similar view about the value of EA to organisations, and also believe this value is seldom given its due. To rectify that, the companies worked together to develop the Enterprise Architecture Awards, with the intent of recognising companies whose practice of EA has delivered substantial business benefit to their organisations.

The five winners are: Aetna, Barclay's , Discover Financial Services, Skandia UK & International, and Wells Fargo Bank. The companies believe all five exemplify the discipline and collaborative spirit needed for true organisational change.

RIM “cannot compromise architecture”

The BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM) stresses it cannot compromise on security architecture of its enterprise solution amid in discussion with India on the lawful interception of data sent from smartphone devices, according to Press Trust of India, states Bernama.com.

RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie stresses that RIM does not have the ability to read the encrypted information and has no master key or backdoor key to allow such access.

The Los Angeles Times quoted Balsillie saying the company knows it is a fundamentally important security feature for its corporate clients. RIM provides corporate e-mail and instant messaging services to about one million users in India.
