NetActive Internet announced today that it has formed a strategic alliance with the division of Motorola. This leading international technology supplier has selected NetActive as one of its 22 preferred technology in Southern Africa. NetActive is in the unique position of being the only accredited ISP .

Since the recent sale of its subscriber base to MWeb, NetActive has been able to focus more on its core business-to-business model within the Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) markets. This focus will enable NetActive to secure its place in the fast growing SME market.

Motorola, as the leader in the voice-over data market, and NetActive, as the expert in the connectivity and networking, will provide SMEs with reliable and cost-effective voice-over data and video surveillance solutions.

"Many people still believe that voice-over IP is illegal. We aim to dispel this myth, and give SMEs the opportunity to experience this incredible technology," says Dr Larry Paslovsky, MD of NetActive Business Services.

"In a recent survey conducted by BMI Tech, our position as one of the strongest players in the corporate field, was confirmed. We have been looking for a partner that could offer best of breed products, at prices that could compete both locally and internationally. Not only does Motorola fit this profile, but also we believe that the company is a credible, reliable partner for the NetActive Networking division.

"NetActive has a complete understanding of the SME market, as well as world-class LAN and WAN expertise," says Udesh Inderlal, NetActive Networking Director. "NetActive has always prided itself on proactively understanding the needs of the SMEs and being able to effectively respond to those specific needs by providing IT communications solutions. Through this partnership we believe we will be providing an essential service to our markets.

As the number of SMEs continue to grow and as they become an integral part of the South African economy, so they are contributing a large portion of their annual spend to IT and IT communication services. Motorola and NetActive will combine their marketing efforts that will help to identify targeted clients that could be in the market for the products and services that will be offered.

Westcon`s Craig Rosewarne, Product Marketing Manager for Motorola says, "I`m very excited to have NetActive on board as our accredited partner. Utilising our best of breed range of products and NetActive`s Internet expertise, we are able to offer a whole new range of solutions."
