Motorola SA has named Judi Nwokedi, its former corporate affairs director, as country manager with immediate effect. She replaces Stephen Nolan.
Prior to joining Motorola in May 2005, Nwokedi was MD of public broadcasting services at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), where she was responsible for 15 radio stations and two TV stations.
Nwokedi has a background in using the media to produce and implement programmes designed to tackle difficult social problems.
Prior to joining the SABC, she was responsible for conceptualising and raising funding for loveLife, a multimedia youth outreach project dealing with HIV/AIDS. Nwokedi`s credits also include S`camto Ground Breakers, which won the Avanti award in the youth and children category.
In 2004, Nwokedi was nominated as one of SA`s top 10 women in media.
