Motorola appoints mobility VP

Motorola has appointed Michael Bayer as VP of its enterprise mobility business (EMB) unit in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Bayer joined Motorola through its acquisition of enterprise mobility solution provider, Symbol Technologies in 2006. Since 2003, Bayer has been VP for Central and Eastern Europe where he reportedly opened 11 new regional offices.

"Over the last few years, my team and I have worked hard to establish Motorola EMB as a solid, reliable expert to approach for enterprise mobility and solutions in Central and Eastern Europe, and I look forward to driving this throughout EMEA over the coming years," he says.

Bayer will focus on developing the EMEA business in new vertical markets, as well as looking at geographic growth opportunities for the company. He also aims to drive market of the breadth of Motorola's capabilities and product portfolio.

"By working closely with our reseller partners and ISVs, we will continue our solutions-based sales approach to truly leverage the applications, consultancy and breadth of knowledge contained within the Motorola partner ecosystem."
