Motorola has unveiled its ColorNotes solution, which allows users to animate and customise multimedia messages.
The Motorola ColorNotes messaging service, developed for CDMA and GSM networks, converts traditional voice or short messages (SMS) to multimedia messages (MMS) that incorporate animated graphics and audio.
It also enables users to receive broadcast messages such as news clips, stock quotes, horoscopes and jokes delivered by an animated character.
Subscribers are able to choose from a library of characters, including celebrities, cartoon characters and animated objects, to deliver their messages. Motorola ColorNotes subscribers also have the ability to select from nine different emotions that the character will portray.
"Users are looking for new ways to personalise their mobile devices and customise how they communicate with others. Motorola ColorNotes does that by enabling subscribers to create and deliver a colourful, fun and completely unique message," says Sri Kannankote, Motorola`s corporate VP, network services and applications management.
The application is currently only available in China.
