Local distributor CompuTrolley.com has made a variety of specialist Ulead video editing and DVD authoring software packages available to the channel.
MediaStudio Pro 6.5 is the latest version of Ulead`s video editing software, offering users new technologies and increased usability. Technological advances for the non-linear video editor include DVD authoring, variable bit-rate (VBR) MPEG-2 encoding and limitless Digital Video (DV) capture. New usability features include Instant Playback, Storyboard Layout and Automatic A/B Roll Layout.
MediaStudio Pro`s DVD authoring capability enables users to output video to VideoCD (VCD), Super-VideoCd (SVCD) and DVD.
"Using a five-step wizard-style workflow and customisable templates, users can create VCD, SVCD and DVD titles with scene menus, navigation buttons and video introductions," explains Simon Campbell-Young, MD of CompuTrolley.com. "The product also creates a Project Database to store user projects for editing or to be used at a later date. This software add-on even allows for direct burning to CD-R, CD-RW and DVD-R (a) hardware."
Yet another newcomer to the market, Ulead VideoStudio 6 carries a wide range of video editing tools to help users produce memorable movies. "People with little or no experience in video editing will appreciate how easy it is to use VideoStudio. Trim videos, add your own soundtrack, create compelling titles and drop in special effects using an easy-to-learn interface that makes editing videos fun," says Campbell-Young.
With VideoStudio 6, users are able to capture video from DV, D8, and Hi8 camcorders, while grabbing DVD-ready video with MPEG-Direct capture and finally share movies on CD, DVD, tape, or the Web.
Ulead DVD MovieFactory helps create polished DVDs featuring professional-looking menus. The product enables simple DVD authoring, including importing, converting and burning of video.
"Using MovieFactory, you can export videos to a variety of formats, including DVD; VCD, SVCD or DV. It provides for a few other export options, too, such as the ability to export to e-mail or make a greeting card," comments Campbell-Young.
"Once you have trimmed your footage and gotten it in the appropriate format, you`re ready to create custom DVD menus that let you jump to specific scenes. MovieFactory walks you through the process of starting a new project, creating an onscreen menu of clips and making submenus for each clip so that viewers can quickly select specific scenes."
Ulead DVD PictureShow lets you use a CD or DVD burner to create photo slide shows that play on many standard DVD players. Essentially, it enables users to share digital photos with anyone who has a TV set and a DVD player.
"DVD PictureShow lets you create DVD-playable CDs (VCDs) or DVD-R disks with up to 99 slide shows per disc. You create each show on your PC, burn it on a disk, then play it back on a DVD player or PC equipped with a CD or DVD drive. You can fit up to 2,000 images per CD and even more if you have a DVD burner. You can also include the high-res originals in case recipients want to make their own prints," explains Campbell-Young.
