Mozilla fixes hole
Mozilla updated Firefox to version 3.5.1 for Windows, Mac, and Linux, fixing a security problem, improving stability, and speeding start-up time on some Windows systems, according to the release notes, says CNET News.
"We strongly recommend that all Firefox 3.5 users upgrade to this latest release," browser director Mike Beltzner said in a blog post.
Firefox 3.5 embodies Mozilla's hope to build a better foundation for Web applications, but about two weeks after its debut, a vulnerability in the browser's JavaScript engine came to light.
Citrix releases free Hyper-V Express
Citrix Systems' Essentials for Hyper-V, a management product for virtual machines created under Microsoft's hypervisor, is now available in a free 'express' version, reports InformationWeek.
Citrix had made its XenServer hypervisor available for free in March in a move widely assumed to encourage the purchase of its higher level Essentials product.
In mid-June, Citrix said 100 000 copies of XenServer had been downloaded in the first 75 days of free availability.
Vodaphone Spain unveils apps portal
Vodafone Spain has unveiled a mobile services and apps portal for corporate customers, states TelecomPaper.
The Vodafone Business Place portal will initially offer a multi-platform and multi-device development environment.
Later this year, the portal will also feature a mobile app sale platform.
