Mozilla Messaging begins operations
Mozilla Messaging, the mail-focused subsidiary of the non-profit Mozilla Foundation, has begun operations, states Earthtimes.
The initial focus for Mozilla Messaging is the development of Thunderbird 3, which will deliver significant improvements, notably integrated calendaring, better search and enhancements to the overall user experience.
Thunderbird is a free, open source e-mail application that is built using the same open source development model as the award-winning Mozilla Firefox Web browser.
CoreSight introduces new platform
CoreSight has introduced Akonix L7 Enterprise v7.0 Unified Policy Management (UPM) platform, says CIO.
The Akonix L7 Enterprise platform monitors, applies and enforces policy and actions for the corporate use of unified communications applications, including public and enterprise instant messaging, online conferencing, VOIP and electronic faxing.
Akonix is broadening its product offering to deliver a cost-effective means to manage messaging and collaboration for compliance laws and regulations, and protect against security threats, data leakage and inappropriate use by employees.
Palm Centro released
AT&T and Palm have released the Palm Centro from AT&T, reports Mobility Today.
Centro offers customers more choices to stay in touch with friends, family and co-workers by using voice, text messaging, instant messaging, e-mail or the Web.2.
Featuring a colour touch-screen and full qwerty keyboard, Centro is the first Palm OS product to launch with AT&T services, such as XM Radio Mobile, Push to Talk and MusicID.3
