Microsoft has released the latest version of its Office 2010 productivity suite, writes The Australian.

Office 2010 includes collaborative features and an online Web application called Office Live. It provides the ability to use Word and other Office 2010 products in a synchronous editing style even if the application isn't installed on your computer.

Office has traditionally been a very strong performer for Microsoft's profit margin, with the productivity suite accounting for more than half of the software giant's operating profits during its last fiscal year

Ricoh upgrades @Remote suite

Ricoh has upgraded its @Remote suite with the release of @Remote Office Intelligent Remote Management system, writes PR Newswire.

The product is a Linux application, allowing businesses to remotely manage Ricoh devices and optimise device usage. The solution eliminates manual meter reading and enhances fleet management.

"@Remote Office gives network administrators, financial managers and officers unprecedented power to improve service and enhance productivity - all while reducing total cost of ownership," says Shun Sato, senior vice-president of marketing at Ricoh.

NetApp unveils SharePoint 2010 solution

NetApp has released the NetApp SnapManager 6 storage solution for SharePoint 2010, states Market Watch.

The software provides SharePoint Server 2010 customers with policy-based management of data, allowing them to automatically place files based on location, size, or type in low cost storage.

"NetApp storage and management solutions enable customers to easily transition data to SharePoint Server 2010 to take advantage of the features and capabilities that it provides,” says Jared Spataro, director of product management for SharePoint at Microsoft.
