MS releases service pack for SQL

Microsoft has introduced an update for SQL Server 2005, reports Intelligence Enterprise.

The update will allow for compatibility of SQL 2005 with Windows Vista and Office 2007. Service pack 2 for SQL 2005 includes add-ins that allow Office 2007 users to perform mining in SQL directly within Excel 2007 or Visio 200.

Microsoft has also scaled down its licensing for the database software. Users can now run multiple virtual instances of the software on one server.

Bitrix Site Manager adds visual mode

Bitrix has released a visual mode of editing Web forms in Bitrix Site Manager, says eMediaWire.

With the new module, users can edit Web forms inside an HTML editor. Aspects of the forms' appearance and order can be changed and re-published. The visual mode allows users who are not trained in programming to use the tool.

The module is an extension of the Site Manager and allows users to manage forms and Web content in the same way as its parent product.

Thunderhead supports IBM's FileNet

Thunderhead will support IBM's newest content management solution, FileNet, reports ECM Connection.

The integration between Thunderhead and FileNet P8 allows the platform to reuse content that is stored in FileNet to create Thunderhead templates and produce business communications. Documents and communications produced by Thunderhead can be archived to FileNet and can be automatically declared, managed and kept as corporate records.

Thunderhead's expanded platform will use FileNet to create an audit trail for all common business communications. Thunderhead will also support FileNet's business process manager and Web service execution language.
