MS signs GRC licensing agreement

ISACA, a global association serving 86 000 IT governance and security professionals, has signed a licence agreement with Microsoft, enabling the software giant to use content from ISACA's internationally accepted governance frameworks, says Newswire.

Javier Salido, senior program manager responsible for the initiative at Microsoft, says: “As a result of Microsoft's licensing agreement with ISACA, enterprises can now leverage a significant number of tools and guidance documents that Microsoft makes available at no cost.”

These tools are based on the Microsoft Operations Framework 4.0, and help enterprises achieve the governance, risk and (GRC) objectives defined within the COBIT 4.1 and Val IT 2.0 frameworks.

SAP updates governance solution

SAP has upgraded its BusinessObjects Risk Management and Process Control applications, saying it's taking the next step to integrate GRC, reports Intelligent Enterprise.

Narina Sippy, senior vice-president and GM, GRC solutions at SAP BusinessObjects, says: "Companies are now looking to lower GRC costs, and one way they can do that is to improve visibility so they can see where there are shared risks and dependencies."

The new embedded reporting and monitoring capabilities in the solution aim to help companies know where to take action to ensure compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley.

Tibco with HP

Tibco Software is expanding its software-oriented architecture (SOA) governance solution to include support for HP SOA Systinet life cycle governance software for enterprise customers, states PR-USA.net.

Tibco ActiveMatrix Policy Manager and Service Performance Manager combined with HP SOA Systinet are designed to reduce risk and complexity around the challenges associated with adopting SOA.

Raghu Thiagarajan, senior director of product strategy at Tibco, says: "With this collaboration with HP, Tibco now provides an end-to-end SOA solution that will enhance trust and collaboration across service life cycle and service operations.”
