MS supports RFID
Microsoft released a new version of its business process management (BPM) server, with built-in support for mobile RFID scanners running Windows, states Windows for Devices.
Microsoft's BizTalk Server 2009 is the latest version of a BPM product designed to integrate Microsoft computing environments with enterprise applications such as Siebel, Oracle, and IBM mainframe databases.
The server has gained support for Windows Mobile RFID readers, such as those on forklifts or handheld devices. Such devices were first supported via BizTalk RFID Mobile and BizTalk RFID Standards Pack add-ons, released via an invitation-only beta in April 2008.
Fujitsu unveils RFID tags
Fujitsu has developed a UHF-band RFID tag which is washable and can be attached to textile products aimed at the hotel, hospital and dry cleaning industry, reports Tech-On.
Fujitsu and Fuji Frontech introduced a new version of their UHF-band RFID tag, which is smaller, lighter and more flexible than the companies' existing product.
The RFID tag is available in two models, one for the Japanese market and the other for markets outside Japan. Shipments have already started. Fujitsu and Fuji Frontech aim to sell 50 million units over the next three years.
GAO rolls out RFID reader
GAO has released its advanced 433MHz active RFID reader with a USB interface, says Big News.
GAO's active RFID reader works in conjunction with GAO's active RFID tags and includes software that allows users to select and monitor many RFID tags or only one.
This active reader also allows for upload of data in real-time or data buffering for later retrieval.
