MS to issue security bulletins
Microsoft will issue 14 security bulletins to plug 34 holes, including eight that are critical, in Windows, Office, Internet Explorer, SQL and Silverlight, the company said last week, notes CNET News.
This will be the most bulletins we have ever released in a month; we have released 13 bulletins on a couple of occasions," wrote Angela Gunn, security response communications manager at Microsoft.
Affected software includes: Windows 7, Windows XP, Vista; Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Windows Server 2008 release 2 and IE 6, 7 and 8, among others.
VMware upgrades application software
VMware has upgraded its application management software Hyperic claiming to offer a way for administrators to fix application problems more quickly, Network World reports.
Hyperic 4.4, developed by VMware company SpringSource, maintains a continually updated inventory of vSphere ESXi and ESX hosts, allowing administrators to identify and correct application performance problems as they occur.
According to SpringSource's Hyperic product marketing manager, Al Sargent, the software has been aimed specifically at the applications operations team within an IT organisation.
AWR unveils Microwave Office
AWR, a provider of high-frequency EDA software solutions, has unveiled the 2010 Microwave Office (MWO) design suite, says TMCnet.
The MWO design suite is a microwave design platform, which offers advanced features and functionality to the companies engaged in communications design.
It has been built upon AWR's high-frequency design environment platform and features a unified data model to provide the latest technologies, combined with ample openness and interoperability, so that it can be seamlessly integrated with tools for each part of the design process.
