MS to release Office for Mac

Microsoft will release Office for Mac 2011 on 26 October after shipping the software to manufacturers in September, writes the Channel Register.

Apple fans can start pre-ordering the suite of productivity applications via Amazon.com, Microsoft says.

The vendor is also a bit overexcited about the upcoming release of two new features it had not previously announced.

Zoho takes apps to Gmail

Zoho has revealed 'contextual gadgets' that enable users to access several of its applications directly from within Gmail, to improve user productivity, reports InformationWeek.

Zoho provides online productivity, collaboration and business applications intended for small and medium-size enterprises and consumers.

According to Zoho, its Zoho Invoice, Projects and CRM contextual gadgets add appropriate buttons and other objects to the Gmail browser, allowing users to view and act on relevant invoice, project and CRM information while reading their Gmail messages.

One Source joins New Age

New Edge Networks, a provider of managed IP-based based networks, says One Source Networks, a provider of carrier agnostic solutions, has joined its AX ecosystem of business applications, writes TMCnet.

This direct connection enables One Source to provide its hosted VOIP services over the New Edge nationwide multi-protocol label switching network.

One Source Networks' VOIP solution is a cloud-based, session initiation protocol-enabled platform, which provides trunking and hosted IP private branch exchange business application services.
