MSPs miss SME backup opportunities

providers (MSPs), focused on the small business market, shows that many MSPs might be missing revenue-generating opportunities in the areas of offsite backup and recovery services, Channel Partners reveals.

The informal survey was conducted by Modular Protection Services, a provider of cloud data protection for the channel serving the SME market.

“Our research shows that many MSPs are currently offering planning services for disaster recovery and business continuity, but the majority haven't yet taken steps to offer an offsite backup and recovery solution to support their plans,” says Eric Strong, president and CEO of Modular DPS.

The findings show that remote monitoring and management services are the most popular core focus areas for MSPs, at 55.6%, MSP News writes.

Remote helpdesk and disaster recovery and business continuity planning tied as the second most popular area, followed by offsite data backup and recovery services.

The most popular line extension for MSPs surveyed was offsite data backup and recovery services at 42.1%, followed by managed VOIP.

And while 50% of MSPs surveyed provide disaster recovery and business continuity planning services, only 26.3% also offer offsite data backup and recovery services.
