MTN's recent promotional deal, that saw the mobile operator introduce lower mobile Internet bundle rates, has now been made permanent.
The company says this is one of its efforts to provide customers with an affordable means to experience the digital world.
Brian Gouldie, chief marketing officer at MTN SA, says the Internet bundle rate reduction proved to be successful, especially with the increase of Internet data consumption requirements. "We at first extended the data offerings promotion to our customers, but have now decided to make it permanent to provide our customers a bold, new digital world," he says.
The reduced Internet bundle rates start at 20MB for R10 and customers have a number of options up to 2GB for R249.
"Making these Internet bundles permanent at very affordable rates ensures that we not only continue to deliver a world-class Internet experience to our customers and assist in bridging the digital divide, but also addresses the important issue of bridging the digital divide," says Gouldie.
In addition to the data rates, MTN is embracing the holiday season by giving customers extra free data for every Internet bundle purchased, under its limited Summer Internet Bundle Giveback. MTN subscribers will, for example, receive 1GB extra for buying a 2GB Internet bundle, explains MTN. This promotion is already available and runs until 31 January 2014.
