MTN says its network is experiencing voice and data connectivity issues affecting some of its subscribers across the country.
"Engineers are investigating the issue. MTN wishes to apologise to affected customers for any inconvenience caused," the telco said in a statement.
This is not the first time this year that the mobile operator has experienced network downtime. In February a million voice, SMS and data customers were affected by network issues that lasted over 48-hours.
The network was once again hit by troubles in May when users experienced data connectivity issues.
Later that month MTN South Africa CEO, Mteto Nyati, announced that the telco would be investing R12 billion in improving its network in the next financial year to improve voice, data and fixed broadband experience for customers.
