MTN has introduced a Mahala promotion that it says gives customers free additional value on their bundles.

The telco notes that the Mahala Data promotion was rolled out to address SA's growing appetite for Internet access.

"The Internet has become an integral part of our everyday lives with people doing business using the Internet and connecting with family and friends on social networks," says Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer at MTN SA.

"In this regard, it is therefore a key goal for MTN to enable many more consumers to experience the power of the Internet through easy and affordable access, as part of our contribution to the 2020 SA vision for for all."

According to MTN, customers purchasing the existing 10MB Internet bundle for R10 will get an additional 10MB of data for free, which means they will get 20MB of data for the price of 10MB.

It adds that customers purchasing the existing 75MB Internet bundle for R49 will get an additional 25MB of data for free, increasing the size of the current data bundle to 100MB at the current price of R49.

The telco also notes that the new Mahala Data promotion will benefit existing and new customers on MTN PayAsYouGo, TopUp and Contract packages for once-off and recurring bundles.

Furthermore, MTN is offering these promotional Internet bundles with new contract offers, thereby providing customers with all-inclusive packages that suite their voice, data and SMS needs simultaneously.

Taukobong emphasises that MTN's Mahala Internet offering is only available on the 10MB and 75MB Internet bundles and not on any other MTN Internet bundle offers.

"We are confident that this promotion will enable customers to browse the Internet for longer and more affordably to suite their budgets."

The promotion will run for a four-month period, starting on 1 November, and will end on 28 February 2013, says MTN.
