MTN Rwanda boosts network

Motorola's Home and Networks Mobility business has signed a three-year outsourcing deal with MTN Rwanda.

Motorola will provide its multi-vendor intelligent optimisation to boost MTN's access .

Eric Pradier, vice-president of Motorola Home and Networks Mobility Services, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, says: “Motorola's optimisation service will accelerate improvements in the quality of MTN's end-customer experience.

“Our services have been designed to improve performance in multi-vendor, multi-technology environments to ensure that networks operate at a peak performance level.”

Improving service

According to Motorola, the optimisation service will be deployed in co-operation with MTN Rwanda to meet improved key performance indicators across its serving area. The contractual agreement aims to improve the operator's customer service levels, and drive efficient management of its infrastructure.

Ali Amer, vice-president of Motorola Home and Networks Mobility, Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, notes: “Motorola has been operating in Africa for more than 40 years and will continue to advance the way Africa connects.”

According to MTN Rwanda CTO, Rami Farah, the telecommunications landscape in the country is becoming more competitive. He adds that MTN Rwanda's move to partner with Motorola hopes to drive the telco giant's current investments and improve its customer service strategy.

MTN Rwanda currently has more than 1.7 million subscribers and says it is experiencing exponential subscriber growth year-on-year.
