Multenet, an established global supplier of serial to Ethernet connectivity products, has recently released the PocketPAD FX, which is a low cost single port serial device server that is designed to connect your asynchronous serial RS232 device to a 100Mb Fibre Optic Ethernet network.
Phil Blain, sales and marketing director, says the PocketPAD FX is currently available at the company`s distribution centres.
Based on the ARM9 processor and a Linux operating system, the PocketPAD FX was designed to offer a Fibre Optic Ethernet interface and a RS232 serial interface. The device network connectivity offers connections via UDP/IP and TCP/IP. The serial mode protocols that it supports range from Raw and TC500.
The device is Web-enabled, thus allowing easy configuration via a standard Web browser and at the same time allowing multiple network connections to the same serial data stream. The PocketPAD FX is a standalone device that offers a fast, easily configurable and secure connection to your serial devices.
