ATI Technologies' All-in-Wonder 128 PRO 2X/4X graphics and multimedia board leads the way in the multimedia revolution.

It ties together a 2D/3D accelerator, a DVD player, a TV-tuner and video I/O functions onto a single board, something that until recently required three separate, expensive boards.

Available in South Africa through Multimedia Warehouse, member of the Siltek IT Supply Chain Group, the card supports the latest PC/TV convergence and multimedia creation applications for PCs in the home, as well as those in and small office-home office.

"The All-in-Wonder 128 PRO produces excellent 2D & 3D graphics performance standards as the result of the RAGE 128-BIT PROchip and 32 MB memory," says Matthews von Brandis, product manager at Multimedia Warehouse. "The TV-out feature allows you to play your favourite 3D games on any TV screen, with remarkable quality. You can even display PC video clips, high-quality graphics or text."

Through built-in DVD hardware decompression, All-in-Wonder 128 PRO offers high quality and complete DVD decoding technology, and its video output sets a new standard in MPEG-2 DVD playback. Full-frame, full-screen DVD video creates a true multimedia experience on your PC or attached television in the home.

All-in-Wonder 128 PRO delivers enhanced TV on PC with such features as closed captioning capture, video capture, adjustable-duration instant replay, pre-view of over 125 channels, and automatic recording of programmes containing selected keywords.

"These functions have been combined to produce the TV Magazine feature. Closed captioning transcripts, along with periodic images from the screen, can be saved to file to produce a printed, magazine-format version of the television broadcast," adds von Brandis.

"It also includes ATI's VCR functionality, where a PC can be programmed to record favourite TV shows just like a conventional VCR. The Digital VCR option leverages the ability of modern CPUs to compress video on-the-fly, as it is viewed.

"Once you've successfully captured video in MPEG-2 format, you can select one of two editing options. The first is a simple, cuts-only editor, which is part of the ATI Multimedia Centre. The second option is to use Ulead's Video Studio 3.0, a friendly, non-linear editor allowing you to assemble multiple clips into a coherent story.

"Media Studio also supplies a number of transitions, such as fades, sweeps and window-blind effects, to use between clips," says von Brandis. ATI All-in-Wonder128 PRO - the ultimate all-in-one TV, video and graphics card.
