MVP secures contracts

Medical Present Value (MVP) has acquired contracts with the University Physicians Healthcare, CHW Medical Foundation, and the University of Illinois Chicago, in total representing more than 1 200 providers, reports Businesswire.

Utilising MPV's contract management service, a Web-based application that enables groups to audit reimbursements based on the latest payment rules and payor adjudication logic, will allow the practices to accurately assess the bottom line impact and resulting revenue of their payor contracts.

“MPV contract management will help us verify that payors abide by contract terms and enable us to provide patients with upfront estimates that set payment expectations before the time of service,” said Sue Haddad, CFO of CHW Medical Foundation.

O2, Telmar ink management agreement

O2 Germany, the country's fourth largest operator by subscribers, has awarded a spare parts management contract to network service and equipment provider Telmar Network Technology, writes Your Industry News.

The contract, which commences during the first quarter of 2009, covers multiple service level agreements for warehousing and logistics services and on-site delivery of network replacement units.

Telmar will also provide multi-vendor hardware repair, round-the-clock call desk support, and end-to-end vendor, warranty and contract management services.

Government needs better contract management

The UK government's agency has been asked to respond as early as next month to National Audit Office (NAO) accusations that up to £290 million (R4.21 billion) a year is being wasted because of poor management of public contracts within the private sector, states Out-law.com.

"We estimate that better contract management could potentially generate efficiency savings of between £160 million (R2.32 billion) and £290 million (R4.21 billion) a year," said a report by the NAO in December.

"As well as financial savings, better contract management could bring improvements in the quantity and quality of services, the avoidance of service failure, and better management of risk," it added.
