MWEB Business hosts series of eMarketing workshops aimed at tourism industry

MWEB Business in conjunction with Quirk Business Solutions presents eMarketing workshops designed specifically for the tourism sector
Johannesburg, 20 May 2004

How can you make your Web site work for you? What are the elements contained in a good Web site? How does a search engine work and what is search engine marketing? What is viral marketing and what are the do`s and don`ts of e-mail marketing?

These are just some of the topics that will be addressed at a series of eMarketing workshops to be hosted by MWEB Business and eMarketing company Quirk Business Solutions. The workshops, aimed at the tourism sector, will take place in June 2004.

The first eMarketing workshop will be conducted in Cape Town on 8 June, followed by one in Johannesburg on 10 June and one in Pretoria on 11 June. The final workshop will take place in Durban on 24 June.

Quirk Business Solutions` eMarketing strategist, Japie Swanepoel, will host the workshops, which aim to educate business people in the tourism sector on how to best apply eMarketing tools to enhance the marketing, sales, operations and customer relations aspects of their businesses.

"The opportunities for businesses with a dynamic online presence are endless," says Gary Hart, products and marketing manager at MWEB Business. "To realise these vast opportunities, tourism businesses need to be aware of the different eMarketing tools and tactics available and how best to apply these to achieve success," says Hart.

The workshops will focus on the different elements of eMarketing as well as the importance of a dynamic Web presence.

"The tourism industry is fast-paced and dynamic and as travellers` needs are constantly evolving, there is a need for businesses in this sector to have a dynamic and flexible online presence," says Swanepoel.

"The workshops will assist businesses in the tourism sector to identify new markets, redefine existing markets and apply appropriate strategies to ensure that market share is increased and sustained," concludes Swanepoel.
