MWEB Business, the division of MWEB that focuses on the specialised needs of small to medium businesses, today launched the latest product in its Genesis 2 template-based Web site solutions range.
Building on the success of the Genesis 2 product range, Genesis 2 Lite is an entry-level Web site solution that provides everything needed to set up a business on the Internet without compromising functionality. MWEB Business offers fast, low-cost development and is able to build a professional Web site within seven days. The Genesis 2 Lite package is available for a once-off fee of R300 and a monthly fee of R199 excluding VAT.
"Our research indicated that there are many smaller businesses that require an online presence, but whose current business requirements do not justify advanced Web site features. Genesis 2 Lite was therefore developed to offer this market the tools needed to take the first step in setting up their businesses on the Internet," says Gary Hart, manager: marketing and products, MWEB Business.
Customers have a choice of nine uniquely designed templates. MWEB Business will then build a customer`s Web site, which is customised with the relevant business content and images. The Web site consists of a homepage and the first five categories. Customers are furthermore provided with comprehensive product training as well as Web site hosting.
"A key feature of this product is the dynamic Genesis 2 Lite Online Wizard, which empowers customers to make their own changes and additions in a secure environment. Customers need not wait for technical support, as they are able to administer and update their own Web sites at any time," continues Hart.
The online wizard is based on a user-friendly, step-by-step menu structure and enables customers to upload uniquely designed banners, images and icons. An advanced HTML editor offers customers the ability to update Web site content with images, links, special text and graphics. The Wizard`s preview functionality allows customers to preview Web site changes before publishing it, while the restore functionality allows customers to restore their site to its original state should they not be satisfied with the preview.
Alternatively, MWEB Business offers a Genesis 2 Lite Maintenance Agreement at an additional fee, which will see MWEB Business making the requested changes to a customer`s Web site.
A standard Genesis 2 Lite feature is its reporting function, which provides information about traffic to a customer`s Web site. Customers are therefore able to gauge, for example, how many visits their site received, what visitors were searching for and where these visitors originated from.
"As this product is built on the Genesis 2 platform, it allows for customers` future growth requirements by offering seamless migration to an e-commerce service coupled with Genesis 2 Standard`s advanced features," concludes Hart.
