NamITech brings joy to children of Refilwe Community Project

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, NamITech (Pty) Limited intends to spread a little joy around this year. At the recent company year-end functions, each staff member was requested to bring a gift for a child between the ages of seven and 14 years. These gifts were then in turn distributed to the children of the Refilwe Community Project at a NamITech hosted Christmas party on 2 December.

"The response from the staff members was overwhelming," said Adam Jones, MD of NamITech. "It was very heartening to see their willingness to give a bit back to the community and to make a difference in a child`s day. There are about 65 children at the centre, each of whom received a gift suitable for their age group."

Refilwe Community Project was established in 1991 and provides care and support to disadvantaged individuals in the Lanseria area. The project includes a community school and a children`s shelter, and runs a NOAH (Nurturing Orphans of AIDS for Humanity) Programme.

In addition to the party at the Refilwe Community Project, NamITech has also adopted the Boikanyo Primary School located in Garankuwa. The company has already donated a number of computers to the school and following its corporate golf day donated R74 000 in sponsorship monies for the development of a comprehensive computer centre for the scholars and staff of Boikanyo.
