The system has proved to be popular as it reduces the costs associated with traditional paper vouchers, namely printing and packaging, transportation, insurance and warehousing. In addition, an electronic solution reduces lost opportunity costs due to the immediate and consistent availability of electronic stock.

To date, NamITech has implemented four instances of its EVD solution in Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast and Mozambique. The most successful of these has been in the Congo. Since the initial implementation in 2002, the system has been running effectively, with in excess of 95% of all vouchers being sold via the NamITech solution.
To ensure NamITech`s solution remains ahead of global market trends, the solution has been enhanced to cater for the distribution of any inventory via a wide variety of front end devices, such as point of sale terminals, mobile handsets, Internet, ATMs, kiosks, personal computers, etc. The solution is no longer limited to the sale of inventory from a single supplier, but allows for inventory from multiple vendors to be sold via the same device. The solution has been developed as a platform which is used as the backbone and core component for the provision of services ranging from airtime top-up to account payments, ringtone and games provision, the list is endless.
NamITech believes this is the ideal solution for Africa and emerging markets as it has been developed with cash-based societies in mind. However, with integration into financial institutions or third-party suppliers, the solution can effortlessly be applied to more advanced markets.
