NamITech Telecommunications has revealed its latest solution currently in commercial pilot - Virtual Electronic Recharge (VER).
The VER solution provides a cellphone user with the ability to `top up` their own prepaid account or that of a third-party via the mobile handset using a menu structure resident on a 32K SIM card. It also enables the fulfilment of inventory, in this case airtime, and the financial leg of the transaction.
The service includes the following components:
* A mobile registration process;
* An application resident on the SIM card to enable the request for recharge;
* Validation of a prepaid number at the network operator;
* Validation and authentication of the cardholder`s details via a registered database or Visa 3 D Secure, ensuring non-repudiation;
* Complete financial messaging and settlement to debit the cardholder;
* Request for recharge at the network operator; and
* A reconciliation process.
NamITech focuses on the development of the application, the non-repudiation leg of the transaction and the completion of the financial messaging and settlement. NamITech is also able to interface to any network operator for the validation of the prepaid number and the request for recharge.
