Leading South African packaging manufacturer, Nampak has chosen Computer Associates Africa`s Unicenter infrastructure management solution as part of its efforts to centralise the management of its IT infrastructure across the country.
Unicenter will be deployed at the company`s two main datacentres in Johannesburg and geographically dispersed at its 140 sites throughout South Africa.
"By deploying Unicenter, Nampak will enjoy a more centralised, integrated and simplified approach to IT infrastructure management. This will enable Nampak to obtain further visibility into how its IT resources and services support the business, allowing for it to be management by business processes," comments Julian Martingano, account director at Computer Associates Africa.
Nampak opted for Unicenter as the solution runs on multiple platforms, thus mitigating vendor lock-in and allowing for easy and seamless integration as well as scalability.
As part of its partnership agreement with Computer Associates, Nampak will have access to Unicenter and its various components. Computer Associates Technical Services will enable Nampak to easily implement the solution as well provide an education component that, among others, entails infrastructure training.
