Enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendor Navision held its first international partner conference since Danish rivals Navision Software and Damgaard merged six months ago to form the new entity. At the World Conference, Navision announced its intention to launch a worldwide branding strategy in a bid to increase the company`s market share.
Navision`s executive vice president of worldwide operations Ren'e Stockner discussed the issues that affect the South African market.
"South Africa has always been one of our valued operations, it has performed exceptionally well considering the time that the operation has been running. Furthermore, it has been able to establish a strong brand and will continue to do so in years to come. I anticipate Navision becoming the preferred ERP solution within the next five years, dominating the market worldwide.
What makes Navision the obvious choice is that our products can be easily localised where our competitors have adopted a `take it or leave it` approach. Navision South Africa recently designed an Afrikaans version of the software for which there has been a huge demand.
In South Africa, Navision has been very successful in appointing a large number of resellers that are extremely committed and confident about the future of the product. The advantage of having a strong reseller base is that there is a focus on a wider range of market segments and more solutions are designed specifically for these markets. I believe that we have only seen the tip of the iceberg with regards to what can be achieved with Navision.
Despite fluctuation in the market worldwide, Navision has continued to grow steadily - especially in South Africa. Our SA operation has reached new levels of success and this is mainly due to the good network of partners, resellers and customers. We believe that no company can work in isolation, collaboration is the key. As a result of this success, Navision has committed to investing heavily in the development of the product.
