Johannesburg, 24 Mar 1999

Ernst & Young announced that Navision Financials 2.00 has attained the BASDA EMU (European Monetary Union) Accreditation for multi-currency and triangulation. In the first round only six software packages passed with Navision Financials receiving an "Advanced" rating. This accreditation is the first multi-currency and triangulation standard designed for enterprise business software applications.

"With literally hundreds of software packages in the marketplace, we are honored to be awarded this prestigious accreditation," said René Stockner, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Navision Software a/s. "We`re proud to help lead the way for both our customers and the rest of the global middle market in making the transition to the euro as smooth as possible." From its inception, Navision Software`s Euro Project Team, a vital component in the design of Navision Financials 2.00, built its global software according to BASDA and EMU guidelines to ensure successful euro compatibility.

"The BASDA standards and Navision Software`s goals were similar from the very start-both require the solution to be easy to set up and simple to use," said Merete Lydolph Larsen, Product Manager for the Euro Project Team at Navision Software a/s. "Ernst & Young reinforced that message by confirming that Navision Financials has true euro functionality and will provide real business solutions." Testing for complete euro compability almost turned out to be too complicated for software vendors. Ernst & Young therefore approached BASDA with a view on how to test applications against the BASDA EMU Accreditation Standard. Navision Software volunteered as the first vendor to be tested. Navision Financials 2.00 now has the right to carry the official BASDA EMU accredited logo designed by Ernst & Young and BASDA.
