Johannesburg, 03 Apr 2002

Navision, a provider of integrated software solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, has announced the Navision Technical Briefing 2002 - a three-day conference for its technology partners and professionals from its Navision Solution Centres. Navision has a global partner network of more than 2 300 resellers.

The event, to be held in Copenhagen from 3 to 5 April, will cater for over 800 attendees from more than 20 countries. It will provide application and implementation consultants, programmers, product managers and partner organisations with an innovative forum to discuss how to best leverage the Navision product suite.

The event schedule comprises keynote addresses from both Navision executives and global technology partners. Keynote presentations will be delivered by top industry product executives from Navision, Microsoft Corporation, IBM and Oracle. Gartner`sNigel Rayner, a research director covering enterprise resource planning (ERP), will discuss the future of ERP and ERP II. He will dispel the myths of ERP II and explain how it relates to vendors and the impact on business customers.

In addition, the Navision Technical Briefing itself will consist of more than 30 sessions covering the entire product suite: Navision Attain, Navision Axapta and Navision XAL, and will focus on a range of topics including CRM, supply chain collaboration and portal functionality.

The Navision Axapta sessions will include information about the release of Navision Axapta 3.0 - the first version of the Navision Axapta Enterprise Portal. The Portal allows users to collaborate with business suppliers, customers and partners. Navision Attain is now available in a Microsoft Windows XP version and is one of the first independent software vendor products to achieve this. Within the Navision XAL product range, version 3.5 will be released at the technical briefing. This new version includes XML and a new upgrading tool that will facilitate upgrade from one XAL version to another.

"We are extremely excited to be hosting our world-class product focused event," said Navision SA managing director Keith Mullan. "The Navision Technical Briefing offers our technical consultants, distributors and partners alike a chance to meet with us directly to discuss and share information about our challenges, successes and implementation experiences. The aim is to transfer knowledge, further build working relationships and brief attendees on new solutions and developments within the Navision product suite."
