NavisionDamgaard has signed a large deal with Oldcastle Precast, a leading US supplier of Precast concrete products. The value of the initial transaction is USD 2.5 million (about R200 million) in licenses and related services.

According to NavisionDamgaard SA managing director Keith Mullan, the installation of Damgaard Axapta will ultimately integrate more than 800 Oldcastle users in more than 60 locations. "The agreement represents one of the largest deployments of Damgaard Axapta in the US."

This integrated functionality will include: financial series, cost accounting, trade logistics, warehouse management, management resource planning, project series and resource series. It will create real-time controlling financial and operational functions for the company.

"The flexibility of Damgaard Axapta is opening the door for increased future capabilities. Oldcastle Precast has purchased a Relationship Management (CRM) system and an e-commerce module based on the Damgaard Axapta platform," adds Mullan. "This will permit the company to add these capabilities in the near future. The all-inclusive functionality found in the Damgaard Axapta enterprise solution was one of the determining factors in Oldcastle`s decision to go ahead with the implementation."

The initial installation is due to be operational by mid- 2001, but deployments in the other locations will continue with implementation completion scheduled for November 2002.

"Our company has strong momentum worldwide. Oldcastle found the international capabilities of the software in tune with their strategy for growth," concludes Mullan.
