NBS has implemented the first phase of an enterprise-wide virtual private network (VPN) and has already generated savings of about 20% a month.
Using a hybrid of solutions such as ISDN, dial-up networking and the Telkom Primenet services, the completed VPN will allow calls to be handled at a national call centre and switched seamlessly to any of the 180 branches.
The network is set to be completed by the end of the year. Primenet offers contracts based on port usage and provides for discounts to bulk-users.
