Ndizani Info Communications has established a new subsidiary, Ndizani E-Business Solutions (NeB). While many e-commerce solution providers provide point products such as an electronic storefront, NeB is a strategic partner offering a comprehensive suite of Applications, Platform, and a trained professional services organisation to help customers transform all aspects of their business into an e-business. Ndizani solutions can transform a company`s e-business all the way from its interface, streamlining its internal processes and Customer relationship management, and providing the needed to make better business decisions to compete.

William Despard the managing director of Ndizani E- Business solutions says, "E-Business is as much about the vision of the business as technology. One needs to ensure that a partnership is created between the business managers driving the business and the IT professionals. E-business describes the way companies are using technologies to fundamentally change the way they do business. " NeB`s solutions are focus on three areas, the Internet Platform, Web based applications such as CRM, and Business Intelligence.

To this end NeB has secured agencies with leading vendors in the E-Business market, including Ixchange. "As regards the Internet platform, we have secured partnerships with leaders in this field being Oracle and Microsoft from an architectural level, couple this with our Enterprise Networks Subsidiaries agencies with Compaq and Cisco and we are able to provide scalable world class solutions. We have also partnered with a local ISP to provide connectivity, web design and development" says Despard. As part of the solutions offering on the Internet platform NeB solutions will also provide E-Commerce applications.

On the application layer Ndizani E-Business solutions will deliver the CRM product Goldmine, and the call center product Heat both from Ixchange. This has synergy with Ndizani Call Center Solutions that provides outsourced call centers. " We also required world class financial applications that we could deploy in the mid market tier and to this end we will be providing the Ability suite of products, also from Ixchange." Says Despard.

"Faced with a variety of potential client needs and states of e-business preparedness, the key is to position Ndizani as an e-business partner able to consult on strategy as well as be a specialist provider of IT products and services. We will see Ndizani Info Communications becoming that partner" says Despard.

William Despard was previously the regional manager for Oracle for Cape Town and Durban.

Introduction

In a short two years, Ndizani has lived-up to its name meaning to `soar, fly, take off`. In an intensely competitive industry, the company has witnessed a spectacular growth both organically and in turnover. It has more than doubled its turnover year on year. Staff has grown from 50 in 1997 to some 150 people to date.

The rapid expansion is testimony not only to the dynamism of the group but also acceptance in the market place. Ndizani has offered clients and suppliers alike an excellent service and professionalism unequaled in the industry.

It is against this background that the company made strategic structural changes to streamline its services. This saw the installation of a new board with an appointment of a new chairperson, former Western cape Minister of Economic Affairs and RDP, Chris Nissen.

In its short life, the company has carried-off an impressive array of accolades including Novell Systems House, Oracle Solution Partner, Microsoft Corporate Solutions Provider, IBM Andisa Partner as well as Open Text Affinity Partner. Open Text develops and markets the Livelink knowledge management product.

The Future

The company has shed low margin business and is focusing on strategic, high growth areas. This process of realignment, concedes Andrew Davids, acting MD of Ndizani, is to position the company to cope with the ever-changing market conditions.

The main focus, says Andrew, will be on strategic high value-added growth areas of services and software, e.g. intelligent network services and support, knowledge management, e-commerce and call centers which will continue to be strategic entities for the business.

He concluded that his ambition is to grow a truly national IT group with an excellent geographic coverage within the next three years.
