Johannesburg, 21 Oct 1999

Ndizani Software Systems, a subsidiary of black-owned Ndizani Info Communications, has been appointed an Oracle Program Member, and an On Oracle partner.

Ndizani supplies and supports Livelink, a web-based Collaborative Knowledge Management application from its principal, Open Text.

Running on the Oracle database platform, Livelink is essentially a enterprise document management and business process solution targeted at and intranet applications within enterprise-wide networks and call centres.

"Targeted at users in the public and private sectors, and in the field of education, Livelink offers a virtual team collaboration, enterprise group scheduling and information retrieval service," explains Andrew Davids, CEO at Ndizani.

"With Oracle technology, Livelink can be scaled and customised to meet a broad range of needs. Its full functionality can be easily accessed through a standard Web browser."

Davids says Ndizani`s vision of Internet computing mirrors that of Oracle and in collaboration their aim is to assist users to accelerate innovation within their enterprises, improve time to market of new product and service offerings - while reducing production costs across the board.

Oracle`s channel manager (Cape), Vicky Butterworth, says with so many companies entering the global arena, it is critical that they have the support of technology to assist them to develop a more informed, competent workforce. "The Ndizani and Oracle partnership will assist companies to achieve these goals by extending useful, accurate, and up-to-date information outside the traditional boundaries of corporate walls using Web technology.

"Now organisations can ensure immediate access to information and business documents - resulting in improved customer service, increased productivity and lower costs," she adds.
