Nedbank Retail, Insight Driven Enterprise deliver case study at MicroStrategy World 2013 in Barcelona

Johannesburg, 08 Jul 2013

Nedbank Retail delivered a case study at the recent MicroStrategy World Europe 2013 conference in Barcelona, entitled: "Nedbank Retail's Mobile Business Intelligence Endeavour". The presentation was very well received and, by popular feedback, possibly one of the best client case studies at the event.

The presentation was delivered by Tinia Scholtz, who is Head of Retail Analytics and Insight for the Business Intelligence Solutions division of Nedbank Retail. She covered the three-month journey of delivering the mobile business intelligence solution, which shows account and customer information for Nedbank Retail using an interactive dashboard, designed for executives and is available on the Web, iPad and iPhone. The presentation included the business case, process followed, success achieved and lessons learned.

The presentation was well received, resulting in an interview by a local newspaper and online blogs. The afternoon's track sessions were all very well-attended. Attendees commented on how impressive and compelling the roster of customer stories was at the conference, including today's sessions by Gucci, Nedbank, Swift, Guess and TAP Portugal, among others.

In developing the solution, Nedbank Retail utilised the services of Insight Driven Enterprise (IDE), a MicroStrategy SA Platinum Partner since 2011 and MicroStrategy SA 2013 partner of the year. Scholtz commented specifically on the importance of partnering with the right company: "The field of data visualisation is still novel. Partnering with an experienced service provider not only grants you access to knowledge of the tool, but also to the concepts and learning regarding visualisation. Knowing how to use the tool is of no value if you don't apply visualisations to your data, which suits the message you want to convey. IDE provides both expertise when it comes to MicroStrategy, as well as extensive knowledge about data visualisation, which you can't learn from books."
