Neotel certifies AudioCodes' Mediant Gateway products supplied by RedLinX Telecoms

Johannesburg, 26 Mar 2010

Products supplied to Atio by RedLinX recently received Neotel SIP Trunking Certification. The product that was certified was the AudioCodes Multi Service Business Gateway (MSGB), of which RedLinX Telecoms is the South African distributor.

RedLinX Telecoms is one of four divisions of RedLinX, and specialises in consulting, design, implementation and support of infrastructure, equipment, software, and solutions for next-generation networks (NGN), VOIP, video, SMS, fax, multimedia and related value-added solutions.

The Neotel SIP Trunking Certification, allows ATIO Customers using CIC Call Centre Application Software developed by Interactive Intelligence to connect to the Neotel New Generation Network using SIP Trunking.

Comments Sean van der Walt, Managing Director at RedLinX and Divisional Manager of RedLinX Telecoms: “For the customer, the certification means lower call costs and lower line rental charges. It also supports their multisite VOIP connectivity to various CIC call centre branch office solutions, using standard G729 SIP codecs.”

“For ATIO, the certification means we can market the AudioCodes MSBG kit to our CIC call centre customers, offering SIP connectivity using Neotel's SIP Trunks. For the customer, this also means improving their return on investment,” says Cindy van Wyk, Business Unit Executive - Interactive Intelligence at ATIO.

The Audiocodes MSBG gateway can translate voice traffic between two separate networks which use different coders or media payloads. An example is the transcoding between WAN and LAN on the edge of the enterprise network (in the case of a SIP trunk being provided) or when peering between two enterprise networks. This is a solution that currently challenges service providers and enterprises, when moving towards all-IP services, interoperating between different VOIP systems. As a result, new requirements have recently been introduced to the market, including operator-to-business SIP trunking, business-to-business connectivity and business inter-branch connectivity. All these require IP to IP mediation, SIP translation and enhanced VOIP security, performed by enterprise-class session border controllers (SBC) for security, firewall router, features, can be achieved by using the new Audiocodes Mediant 1000-MSBG gateways.

Concludes Van der Walt: “RedLinX is currently ATIO's preferred supplier of the Audiocodes MSBG gateways, supplying the ATIO CIC call centre base with the MSBG gateway for SIP Trunking. We (RedLinX) together with AudioCodes support team set-up and configured the MSBG gateways, to enable SIP traffic to the CIC call centre. We look forward to do similar certifications in the future with ATIO.”
