Nestle (SA) is in the process of installing a Labour Management solution for its Randburg head office and its 14 factories and distribution depots countrywide, supplied by CS Holdings. The solution incorporates the Kronos Time Management software and Access Control infrastructure at each site.
"Nestle recently established the Global Business Excellence (GLOBE) division to standardise business processes and systems across the group," explains GLOBE project manager at Nestle Johan Greyling. "The roll-out of the combined T&A and AC systems, which also integrates with the SAP HR and payroll solution currently being deployed, forms part of the GLOBE initiative."
The world`s largest food company, Nestle has grown from originally producing milk and dietetic foods, to providing a complete range of food and drink.
"CS Holdings is supplying the Kronos Time Management system and was appointed to manage the roll-out of the AC system to the various sites, thereby providing Nestle with a standardised solution throughout," he continues.
"Implementing a centralised labour management solution for the whole organisation will provide for easier integration and maintenance of the system, particularly the integration of the Kronos T&A system to the centrally-run SAP HR and Payroll solutions."
"With a multiplicity of standalone T&A and AC solutions in use at their factories and depots, Nestle had no central system with which to interface to its envisaged central HR and payroll application," says CS Holdings account manager Glen Buchner. "Carrying out this function manually was a time-consuming and costly exercise. Following completion of the T&A and AC roll-out, accurate data will be timeously fed to a central database at Nestle`s head office in Randburg where it can be quickly and easily assimilated. Ultimately, Nestle will be able to utilise its line management staff more efficiently and expects to experience huge savings in the cost of preparing the payroll."
The project is scheduled for completion in early December 2003.
