Local Internet Service Provider - NetActive Internet announced the company`s restructuring last year to form a new look Business Services Division focusing on providing the SME (small and medium enterprise) market with a valuable Internet and networking outsourcing partner. Since then, it has become NetActive`s mission to provide a true end to end solution to this burgeoning sector of SA economy.
In line with this mission, NetActive announced today that the organisation will be providing Gynomed - one of this country`s Obstetrics and Gynaecological practices - with what has been described by the client as the perfect turnkey solution for an SME.
In an installation deal worth over R 150 000, NetActive will provide Gynomed with a complete network installation, hardware, NetActive`s very successful NetChauffeur connectivity solution, project management and consulting skills, and the design and hosting of the Association`s web site.
According to Gynomed doctor, Dr Lindeque, "The way doctors run their practices has come along way from the days of using reams of paperwork and catering hours of admin work. Doctors today run their practice from their desktops - issuing prescriptions and doing the necessary admin as a patient sits opposite them. One of the ways this is done via a system called MASS (Medical Management Application). By contacting NetActive to upgrade our existing Network, upgrading MASS to a windows based application and by installing a Linux server and providing connectivity for all Gynomed members, the process of running the business electronically will be significantly enhanced. Not only will Doctors at Gynomed have access to speedy connectivity, a networked system and new facilities such as computerised scheduling of appointments, the clients will also benefit with improved service from Gynomed and by having access to a comprehensive, informative web site."
As an accredited Microsoft supplier, NetActive will install Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) - offering Gynomed a secure, reliable platform on which small business can easily share files, back up critical information and share office equipment . Also included is Microsoft 2000, FrontPage 98, Exchange Server 5.5, Microsoft SQL database and Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0 to assist Gynomed in the effective management of their own web site.
The NetChauffeur Linux to be utilised was developed by NetActive to meet the specific Internet needs of SMEs. NetChauffeur provides organisations with e-mail, browsing, faxing, security, anti-virus and web and Intranet server functionality. Described by both the client and NetActive as the ideal solution for the smaller enterprise, "This product not only offers high end connectivity at a reasonable price, it also offers users national and international faxing from their desktops, controlled internet access, a reliable and stable platform, reports and logs to manage usage and best of all, in house expertise to support the product," comments Dr Larry Paslovsky, MD of NetActive Business Services.
One of many future installations into vertical SME markets, the Gynomed project is further proof of NetActive`s commitment to clients that the organisation will continue to present a total service solution to the SMEs - including installation, training, maintenance and support at an affordable cost!
