Netflix releases update for iOS app

Recently, Netflix released an update to its mobile application on all iOS devices, including the iPhone, iPod and iPad, Into Mobile writes.

The upgrade is supposed to enhance the user experience, taking full advantage of the new iPad's Retina display, as it now supports better looking menus and movie thumbnails.

“The video is not in HD yet,” Mashable quotes Joris Evers, director of corporate communications at Netflix, as saying.

“That is on our roadmap, but I can't share timing at this point.”

According to App Advice, even though the new iPad has been out for almost two weeks, there are still not a large number of HD streaming options.

Only the ABC Player app is featuring HD video for the Retina display. Other popular apps like Hulu Plus, HBO Go and PBS Kids are still just streaming plain-vanilla SD video.
