NetIQ Security Manager achieves NIAP certification

NetIQ Corporation, an Attachmate business, today announced that NetIQ Security Manager has been validated by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) to conform to the Common Criteria for IT Security Evaluation (version 2.3).

By meeting specific, globally-recognised security standards set by the International Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (ICCITSE) NetIQ assures customers that Security Manager meets the highest levels of quality, reliability and scalability sought in enterprise security solutions.

Achieving Common Criteria certification means that Federal agencies and global enterprises alike can reduce the time and cost associated with the evaluation of NetIQ Security Manager for comprehensive security information and event management (SIEM).

NIAP is a United States government initiative between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA) designed to increase both buyer and user trust in enterprise information systems and networks technologies.

NIAP sponsors the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS), which focuses on meeting the security testing, evaluation and assessment needs of both IT producers and consumers. Designed to adhere to parameters set by ICCITSE, this certification assigns the responsibility of testing and validating product security and functionality to a pre-qualified third party, providing a standard basis for the assessment of technology products.
